Mental Clutter Between Tasks: The Art of Remaining in Every State
At this point, it is important to clarify something. This is not an attempt to force ourselves to treat everything equally. The moment we create a rule that says, “I must treat everything equally,” another layer is added to the mind.
The observation is much simpler. As sustainability develops, experiences naturally begin to lose some of their exaggeration. The difference between activities still exists, but the psychological distance between them gradually decreases. Equality is not imposed. It appears on its own when exaggeration reduces.
Life will always contain different levels of responsibility. Some activities have greater financial importance. Some have greater practical importance. Some influence the future more than others.
The difference is that these priorities no longer need to be driven by psychological attachment or egoic interpretation. Importance can arise from the requirements of the situation itself. The activity receives the attention it deserves because it is necessary, not because the mind has exaggerated its significance.

This may also explain why practices such as Yoga, Tai Chi, and traditional martial arts often emphasize slow and deliberate movement. The purpose is not slowness for its own sake. The purpose is to remain aware during transitions.
Normally, attention becomes absorbed in the activity and overlooks the movement between one state and another. When movement becomes slower and more conscious, awareness begins to notice the transition itself.
Over time, attention shifts from being completely occupied by actions to becoming aware of the process through which actions arise. In this way, continuity of awareness is gradually strengthened, not only during practice but throughout daily life.
