Introduction
In our daily life, when we are facing each and every situation, the psyche is always in operational mode. It is always in a functioning mode. Whether the body is physically indulged in social or professional activities, only one simple mechanism is happening inside: the psyche gets indulged with the thoughts of favorable situations, and it fights against or resists the thoughts of unfavorable or disliked situations. This is the general scenario of the psyche.
The same thing happens when a person sits for meditation as a beginner. Meditation is not a sudden one-click entry into another realm. Meditation is actually a scope you are providing for your psyche to transition into another phase. It is a slow, layered, gradual process.
What Actually Happens When You Sit for Meditation
When you sit, you are giving your body permission to switch off the outward senses. You are telling the senses, the hands, the legs, the body, the breathing system — stay still, stay steady.
You are creating a steady setup.
You are giving the psyche a scope to withdraw its observation from the outer senses and shift it inward — toward what is happening inside the nervous system and the inner consciousness.
But the psyche does not suddenly stop thinking. It continues the same function. It indulges in favorable thoughts and fights against unfavorable thoughts. Closing your eyes changes nothing. Psyche remains in the working state.
Even while sitting in meditation, the psyche functions exactly as it functions during walking, talking, or working.
Why Thoughts Continue Even in Meditation
The psyche is always moving in the inertia of thoughts. The volume of thoughts is extremely high. Thoughts have been happening from childhood until now, and every second, countless micro-thought impressions flash across the system.
There is no upper limit for thoughts.
So the psyche cannot immediately connect with the inner vibration. Even if it connects for a moment, the influence of thoughts remains stronger due to inertia.
Therefore, the psyche repeatedly indulges in favorable thoughts and repeatedly fights unfavorable thoughts — even in meditation.
No one escapes this.

The Gradual Shift: Anchoring to Inward Awareness
When you provide scope for your body and mind to stay tuned to the inward vibration, your psyche slowly starts aligning with the inner intellect.
Even then, thoughts will come.
But slowly the psyche begins to watch thoughts as if they are visuals. It becomes an audience, not an actor. It does not indulge and does not oppose. Just like watching a movie in a theatre, the psyche watches thoughts from a third-party position — not from first-party involvement or second-party reaction.
This is the real relieving mechanism.

Why Thoughts Don’t Stop — The Truth of the Psyche
As the nervous system gradually transforms, as awareness begins to anchor inward, a major truth becomes clear:
Thoughts do not disappear in meditation.
This is where people hold the biggest misconception.
Thoughts do not stop. Thought-formation does not end. What changes is your position. You shift to a higher state of consciousness from where thoughts become harmless visuals, not binding experiences.
The psyche continues its duty in the lower plane. Thoughts still arise. But you, the observer, are no longer sitting in the plane of thoughts.
The Organic Nature of Thoughts
Thoughts are organic. Getting many thoughts is healthy. It shows the psyche is functioning perfectly.
Once you understand this, you stop trying to stop thoughts. You stop fighting them. You stop expecting meditation to erase them.
Meditation shifts you, not the thoughts.
How the Plane of Awareness Shifts
When you anchor yourself to the inward sound — the sound of the soul, Omkarnatham — your mind slowly increases its percentage of connectivity to the inner intellect.
Slowly the density of thoughts decreases from your perspective, because your awareness has shifted to another plane. Thoughts still exist in their plane, but awareness is no longer present there.
This is meditation. This is the journey toward peace.
Final Takeaway
You and I should come out of the misconception that stopping thoughts gives freedom.
No. Thoughts are healthy. Thoughts are natural. Thoughts are the duty of the psyche.
Spirituality is not stopping thoughts. Spirituality is anchoring yourself to the inward awareness and shifting to a higher plane where thoughts continue but no longer bind you.
That is the real mechanism of the psyche. That is the real way to connect with God.
